Career Prep Program

The Career Prep Program is an employment program developed to help private sector employers create employment opportunities for post-secondary students in their last year of study. An employer receives a temporary wage subsidy to hire, mentor and provide full-time employment for a student. Post secondary students have the opportunity to apply their education and training in a workplace. The work experience should better prepare the student to move into the workforce after graduation.

·        Provides 50% of wages up during the period up to 18.00 per hour

·        Maximum of 52weeks (16 weeks of full-time employment to a maximum of 40 hours/week, followed by 36 weeks of part-time employment to a maximum of 10 hours/week during the final year of the student’s post secondary program). 

·        No deadline to apply – program is open year round
